The Broken Flag Saga

The Feathered Serpent

1519–1525 · The Spanish Conquest of Mesoamerica

Three novels. The fall of the Aztec and Maya worlds. In the languages of those who lived it.

About the Trilogy

The Feathered Serpent is not a conquest told from one side. It follows two intertwined bloodlines — one Iberian, one Mesoamerican — as their worlds collide across the fall of the Aztec and Maya civilisations, from the siege of Tenochtitlan to the last strongholds of the Maya lowlands. The trilogy moves between the language of the conquerors and the languages of the conquered, refusing to let either side speak alone.

This is history written from the ground: soldiers who did not choose the wars they fought, priests who reconciled faith with atrocity, and people navigating a collision of worlds that neither one fully understood. The series is grounded in real, meticulously researched history — the same events, the same timeline — reimagined through characters who lived alongside them, asking what remains of two worlds forced to converge under a new order, and what it costs the people who carry that memory forward.

It is the opening act of The Broken Flag Saga: the first turn of a wheel that will keep turning for five hundred years.
