Kyle Alexandre Struan is the author of Baler and Other Stories and the creator of The Broken Flag Saga — an expansive literary project spanning fourteen series and five hundred years of human conflict.

His debut work, a companion collection set against the backdrop of a fictional Second Spanish Civil War, examines the complete moral lifecycle of societal fracture: from idealistic heroism to devastating atrocity and fragile reconciliation. Stark and deeply philosophical, it is a work that does not flinch.

Educated in Spain and England, and having lived in Brazil, Bolivia, Hong Kong, and Malaysia along the way, he writes with headphones on — classic hard rock and deep house on rotation — and with little patience for people who look after only themselves at everyone else's expense. He writes from a two-century-old stone house in the mountains of Galicia, Spain — a place of ferns, rains, mists and long silences that finds its way into everything he puts on the page.
